On the anniversary of the Islamic Student Association (HMI), let me flash back to HMI's birthday a few years ago, where the HMI family gathered to thank Allah SWT for the establishment of HMI founder Lafran Pane as a National Hero. It was an amazing experience at that time.

I am always proud to be a part of HMI which will be 75 years old on February 5, 2022. My involvement in HMI is a life calling to serve Islam and Indonesia. This awareness of Islam and Indonesianness has become an inseparable unit and is firmly embedded in me. This awareness needs to be grown gradually and continuously in HMI cadres so that they are strongly bound by sincere commitment, active participation, and total dedication to the advancement of Islam and Indonesia. This is in line with the hope of our hero Lafran Pane, that HMI cadres must be able to become cadres of the nation.
